Our Facility
Sustainable Sites
Sustainable sites not only limit the impact of building on site and the surroundings, but they also limit disruption to the site’s natural hydrology, while always ensuring the selected site is appropriate (i.e., wetland habitat for endangered species). Additionally, with a high open space to building footprint ratio, sustainable sites maximize open spaces, while minimizing site disturbances.
Sustainable sites address several critical fields:
- »Limit impact of building on site and surroundings
- »Limit disruption to site’s natural hydrology
- »Maximize open spaces–high open space to building footprint ratio
- »Ensure selected site is appropriate (i.e., wetland habitat for endangered species)
- »Minimize site disturbance and keep within close proximity to building envelope
